The great people behind the Light the Night Dear Jack Foundation team around the country have raised close to half a million dollars (!) for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society since the foundation got involved in the walk.
If you’d like to join the fight against blood cancer & sign up for the walk in LA, Boston, NYC, or a city near you, you can join here: http://pages.lightthenight.org/2014/dearjackfoundation
If you cannot make one of the walks, you can also make a contribution via my fundraising page: http://pages.lightthenight.org/calso/UCLA14/AWotton
Any and all support is appreciated. Please help spread the word and reblog if you can. Thanks for reading!
No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.
We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.
(Dead Poets Society, 1989)
“I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone. It’s not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel all alone.”- Robin Williams (1951 - 2014)
